VOICES 4 TRANSPORTATION CHOICES

V4TC

We know there are plenty of people out there who want to do something concrete to move this region forward.

Be part of our Voices 4 Transportation Choices initiative to talk to our decision makers about how you want your community to grow.

It only takes 2 steps:

1. Share your story with your elected official.

2. Tell us how it went.

Voices 4 Transportation Choices is a partnership between PSG, Ridefinders, & TransitTalk.com to encourage citizens to get smart and speak up about the need for a more connected region. By providing tools and opportunitiesto communities in the Richmond Region, TransitTalk, Ridefinders and Partnership for Smarter Growth will achieve our mutual goal of making transportation choices a priority among decision makers and the citizens whom they represent.

BIKE & PEDESTRIAN INITIATIVE

Bike

Richmond region is ripe with opportunities and need to increase our bike and pedestrian infrastructure. The Richmond area receives low rankings on accessibility and safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. Citizens have been looking for a sustainable movement to join. No one group possesses all the resources needed. PSG has teamed up with Richmond Area Bicycling Association, as well as TransitTalk.com, Virginia Bicycling Federation, and other groups, for this education and awareness campaign. Together, we seek to do the following:

1) Identify and raise awareness for bike/ped infrastructure opportunities in each locality;
2) Promote the connection of these local infrastructure opportunities into a regional, statewide, and national network; and
3) Position the region and localities for federal, state, and local funding for an improved active transportation network.

Contact Lauren DeSimone, Bike & Pedestrian Intern, at lauren@psgrichmond.org or (804) 644-4774, if you are interested in getting involved. We are seeking "Champions" in each locality to help us achieve our goals.
